Download the preferred decal file and print onto the vinyl decal sticker paper by following the instructions included with the decal paper. (Note: Some decal paper will only accept inkjet printers)
Once you have your decal designs on vinyl you'll need to cut them out and apply them to your XMODS. It's best to use an X-Acto knife to cut your decals. Scissors will create unattractive, jagged edges and could curl the sides of the decal, making them hard to get smooth and in place on your car.
Place your sheet on a hard, flat surface; one that you don't mind cutting or scratching. Carefully, slowly, cut along the outline of your decal, about a 16th of an inch from the edge. Remember, you can always cut more of the vinyl away if you need to, but if you cut out part of your graphic, you'll have to start over. Apply just enough pressure to cut through the vinyl and into the paper backing. If you press too hard you could wrinkle or tear the decal.
Now your graphics are ready to be applied to your RC. There's no great trick to this, you're just going to have to have a steady hand and a good eye. It might be a good idea to print your graphics on some plain paper and cut them out first so you can hold them up to your car and get an idea of how they're going to look and fit.
Peel the decal from the backing and carefully position it on your car, attaching one end first with just a minor bit of pressure from your thumb. Now lightly lay the decal in place without applying any pressure on it. Gently smooth the decal down, starting at the end you first attached, making sure there are no wrinkles or bubbles. Use your knife and forefinger to pick up the edge of the decal if it gets stuck in the wrong position. With your graphics now in place, go over them again with your finger, applying more pressure to make sure they're stuck on good.
Apply your clear-coat and then post a picture of your beautifully finished, totally custom XMODS on xmodsRC.com so we can all admire it.
